Never Forgotten Soldier

In 1930 August 11th, my father was born in Tennessee. Was raised on a farm with his brothers and sisters. When he grew to be the age of 15. He had to pick cotton for a living. One day, he looks to his father and tells him that he doesn’t want to pick cotton anymore. He tells his father. He wanted to do something that would make his mother a father proud of him. So his father looks to the cotton owner and says my son does not have to pick cotton any more if he doesn’t want to.

Then he went to be recruited into the Marine Corps. And became a Special Forces sniper. Did two tours in North Korea. Hand to hand combat. Purple Heart recipient. As a young man who was always a fighter. He said on the weekend him and a friend. That was very big and stocky. And wore a big chain around his neck would meet at a big oak tree in his little town. To see who was the baddest from the surrounding towns. Fighting, and never lost. So like I said he wanted to do more with his life going to the Marine Corps and becoming a marine.

Some of the short stories he told me is what I’m sharing with you.
